Phillip Gore, O.D.
With over four decades of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Gore's role in the shaping of this industry and the economic development of Jamaica has been recognized at both the national and international level.
In 2013 he was awarded the Jamaica Observer Business Leader Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2008 he was awarded the International Humanitarian Award by the American Friends of Jamaica for his exemplary contribution to Jamaica¹s economic development and the creation of opportunities for Jamaica¹s youth through sport.
In 2007 he was awarded the Order of Distinction by the Government of Jamaica for his contribution to Sports, Housing and Community Development and in 2005 he was a recipient of the Carlton Alexander Award for excellence.
Mr. Gore is a current member of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association, Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and the Incorporated Master Builders Association of Jamaica. He is a Director on the Board of The Jamaica Observer and being a dedicated Jamaica College (JC) old boy he is also a Director of the Jamaica College Foundation Renovation Project
In addition to the creation of several scholarships at UWI, MICO & UTECH, Mr. Gore is Trustee/Director of The Scholarship Fund which supports financially challenged students from elementary school up to high school and puts them in a position to win athletic scholarships to university. He is a Past President & Director of Tennis Jamaica and is now an Honorary Life Member and currently sits on the Board of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
In the past he has served as Chairman, Deputy Chairman and a Director of JAMPRO, as well as a Director of the Kings House Foundation and a past Director the Tryall Club where he is currently a proprietary member.
His easy going style camouflages an enthusiasm and attention to detail that stem in part from a thorough enjoyment of every aspect of his work. Mr. Gore¹s low-key hands on management style coupled with his boundless energy ensure that a high standard of quality and service is delivered in every facet of Gore Developments Limited activities. These qualities have in no small way contributed to the company becoming the largest Residential Developer in the Caribbean. Previously, he led the Building and Construction Sector as Chairman and Director of the Jamaica Developers Association and President Incorporated Master Builders of Jamaica.
Whilst he is keenly interested in all sports he swims, plays golf and tennis, loves his Windies Cricket Team regardless and is a loyal and devoted Manchester United and Miami Dolphins fan. An avid reader, he also enjoys politics and his four grandchildren.
