COVID-19 guidelines for school safety required several very specific changes to the layout of our GFF Sponsored Basic School classrooms.
The list of required changes was daunting to say the least. Without the overwhelming support of Food for the Poor by way of their very generous donation of 50 desk sets (1 table & 4 chairs per set), 22 single folding beds for isolation rooms, 2 10x10 tents, 18 metal folding chairs & 9 plastic tables, re-opening our schools in September would have been impossible.
Miss Zelpha is from Wakesfield, Trelawny. The Montego West Village Site Team had been out in her area about two weeks ago to hand out care packages as they have been doing throughout the area for the past 4 months. Miss Zelpha has one of those they visited that day, such a humble soul was she, and she was so grateful for the little she received.
The Montego West Village Site Staff along with Friends of Gore Developments Ltd. have worked tirelessly for the past 12 weeks to help those most in need. They have been busy providing many families as well as the elderly population with basic food items along with essential household items, through a self-directed initiative.
