Chairman of Gore Homes, Phillip Gore, and his wife, Christine Gore, formed The Scholarship Fund in June 2001, which then became the Gore Family Foundation in September 2014. They created these charitable entities in an effort to ensure that all Jamaicans—beginning with the nation’s children—are given the best opportunities to succeed. The Gores believe that the best way to accomplish that is to make sure that Jamaicans have access to a superb and solid education.
The Gore Family Foundation, led by Mr. Phillip and Mrs. Christine Gore, dedicates a considerable amount of time, financial resources, ingenuity and expertise in order to help attain the goal of establishing greater educational opportunities for all on the island. Every effort the Foundation makes is geared towards improving the health and welfare of Jamaica’s citizens.
Among its multiple charitable programs, the Gore Family Foundation:
-
Provides scholarships to students at the tertiary level
-
Offers an at-risk youth program for young Jamaicans from the Rose Town community
-
Funds a number of courses and a nutrition program at Jamaica College
-
Runs a basic school program in nine schools in the Kingston area
